Super pass from Van. not even close. We can't afford him. He doesn't fit in our lineup. We're not getting rid of all those pieces. We'd have to replace multiple defensemen. This causes so many problems.

I'll offer a rebuttal but I'm doing this still not thinking theres any chance Van wants him for this either.

Sutter, Myers, Utunen, Lind, Boucher, 2022 1st. for Eichel and Middlestadt.

I have to say your trade is a bit more thought out mine is just something I threw together on my way to work. As for him not fitting in the line up I feel that it would allow the organization to just focus on signing Petey and Hughes( maybe Pearson too). As for the lineup you play him on a line with Brock and Bo, which means Bo doesn’t have to take all the draws and than also you have Eichel be the driving force on the 2pp and give him pk duties.

I also feel that it gives players who have been stuck in the bubble a chance to make the roster

We want Bo taking those draws. He's like a top 5 faceoff guy in the league. It pinches like 25 million long term into centers and we can't do that with Hughes and Markstrom needing cap. Van doesn't need a top 6 forward before signing all it's guys. We can sign Toffoli and then there legit could be lines of Miller, Petey, Toffoli then Boeser, Horvat, Virtanen and Gaudette, Pearson and Leivo or mixed around. Mckewen, Beagle Motte on the 4th Eriksson and Ferland are wherever If they even play. And thats if we move Sutter and Roussel. That top 12 is Nhl caliber and we have Hoglander coming over now, Podkolzin now or next year. Forwards dont help us. Cap space helps us. I would run back this defense too. ( I want Myers gone but I've seen worse players for sure) Goaltending is great. This team just needed time and they're there. A big swing like this scares me financially.
