Can't imagine the Sharks would agree to that trade. Mittelstadt doesn't have that much value. 21, not a regular in the majors and his numbers in the AHL last year were pretty bad

in what way? rakell has regressed heavily the past 2 years and is losing value. maybe throw in another 2-4 rd but he's not worth that much more

I do think Casey has value (that value will take a huge hit if this year doesn't go well.

I saw someone (a sabres fan) propose the 2020 1st (likely #7 overall) for Hertl. Thinking is Sharks have no 1st, Hertl will want a big raise in 2 years and hes coming off an injury.

he has some sabres sources who think sharks likely won't want to make the move, but buffalo will come knocking on hertl.

he is worth a lot more than a 2nd round pick 2 years from now. he still averages .65 and .62 points the last 2 years on terrible teams (3rd and 4th best of his career)

Sharks declines

Switch Montour to a forward with equal value and switch the 2021 1st to a 2020 1st

It's gracious of you to call me a Sabres fan. I can't claim that because I don't get to see them on t.v. But you can characterize me as a Sabres sympathizer.

My whole scheme was that San Jose would pick Marco Rossi, the Wild would get Anthony Cirelli in exchange for the 11th overall, Tampa Bay would get Dawson Mercer or Anton Lundell, and the Sabres would end up with Hertl. In retrospect, I should have included the Tampa first-rounder that San Jose owns, because the Sabres come out with the least in this wheel, but oddly enough, it was Sharks fans who objected to the straight-across, asserting that Hertl is too important to the team and they fully expect to re-sign him when he's up for renewal. I believe that it was you or another Buffalo fan who objected on the ground that two years is insufficient term in exchange for an 18-year-old potential game-breaker, which is a very valid concern.

Anaheim isn't trading Rickard Rakell without getting (a) a high pick in 2020, (b) immediate help at RD, or (c) both. This year he would have been tied with Victor Olofsson for third-highest scorer on your team, although Olofsson played in fewer games.

I saw it from Chad DeDominicis on twitter, I didn't see your move.

Cirelli for 11th Overall: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1748731

Hertl for 7th Overall: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1748819

I’ve since come to believe that Hertl and the Tampa Bay first or San Jose second for the 7th overall and Mattias Samuelsson is much closer to proper value for Buffalo

Feel free to weigh in. Or not.

I don't know that I'd be willing to add much if anything to #7 overall.

That's entirely fair. It's a very tricky proposition.
