Why would STL do that? Perron was 1 point away from leading the team in scoring and has a fantastic contract. STL is still trying to win so I dont see how a late 1st helps them

I understand you'd need to clear cap, but the Blues have zero use for Sorenson, even if we did deal Perron. As for that trade, the Blues would only be *possibly* interested if they got desperate to clear cap. I doubt they're apt to trade Frenchy.

I'd love for the Blues to get more. Not sure if a 32 yr old winger with a penchant for taking bad penalties and a middle six scoring rate outside of the PP can get much more than a late 1st. Maybe there is a GM out there that would decide to pay more, who really knows. The Blues have enough forwards pushing for spots that the cap space and a chance at drafting a good player is good value IMO.

That was my thinking. Many young forwards coming up in STL. Cap space needed to sign Petro as well. Basically S J is taking Over 6.5 mil off the books for STL even with Sorensen trade. Sorensen is a very serviceable bottom six grinder with speed who can help a contender, he netted 17 goals last year so he can produce on the right line.
