i just don't get all the love DeMelo seems to be getting. i give him a 2 year at 2.5 or maybe the 2.75 you gave Stetcher. Tanev at 4 would be nice.

He has roughly $2.7 million carrying over. Edler, Sutter and Pearson expiring gives him $13.7 million more, so he has about $16.4 million to spend. Let's say he fills the three emptied slots for $3 million. That gives him $13 million to play with. Give Pettersson $9 million (i.e., $8 million more than shown here) and Hughes $5 million (i.e., $4 million more than shown here). He's fine on the money. Moreover, two of the guys he's replacing aren't key ingredients, in my eyes. The only problem comes from replacing Edler with a minimum-contract guy. But if Juolevi is ready to step up, even that isn't a problem.
