So here's the problem. You're looking at this deal stats for stats. Obviously they're both insane and their numbers would certainly be close enough. This trade wouldn't be about that. These are two guys drafted later than they should by these teams and they brought them to prominence. This trade would be a bad look for both teams that they would build up a guy so high and then ship them for basically a no gain hockey trade. It looks bad to Bergeron and Stamkos and all the line mates and friends that say no matter how good you do we might just flip you (to a rival no less) for no substantial reason.

Pasta is 3yrs younger and makes $3 million less a year. On a per game rate over the laat 3 years, Pasta is the better goal scorer while Kuch is the better setup man.

Why are the lightning over the cap when they'd have less salary paying Pasta than Kucherov?

I'm a Boston fan-but I'll keep my biased out of this. This almost seems like a flip that's not really that necessary. Pastrnak has a bright future and lit up the league this year. Now, I'm not saying Kucherov can't be equally as good and that he didn't have 395 points last year, but I think Boston would lose this because they gain 3 million, they lose 3 years of playing time, and Kucherov is a point scorer in Tampa while Pastrnak seems like a pure goal scorer. Just my thoughts!
