Thornton is on his last legs and I really don't count him as much in this deal. At the deadline he would have gone for a mid tier prospect and also he's a free agent. Couture is better than both players from Vegas but I don't think he's worth both. I want to swap out Thornton but I don't see a piece that seems fair that Vegas would like. I think Couture is good enough that SJ would basically only move him for a deal like this but Vegas wouldn't do a deal like this. I just don't see it meeting in the middle.

I pretty much agree with everyone else. This could possibly be Thornton's last year, and if you are going to give up two Top 6 players in Pacioretty and Karlsson and only get an old rental and a single Top 6 player back in Couture, this doesn't really make sense. Especially if Vegas wants to go deep in the playoffs.
