Rags, You're probably right - just shaking it up and hoping a healthy Anderson can net 18-25 to justify 1st rounder.

Those trades are awful. Columbus will accept the gift of the 1st round pick (7th OA ish) and flips Montour to Toronto for a 2nd or 3rd or anything they want to give us.

1st is more banking on Anderson (27g). How does 7OA help Buffalo now? Attempt to stabilize with proven vets...would a 2nd do it?

These trades make the Sabres much worse. Eichel would demand a trade out asap.

Have you seen this draft, anyone at 7OA will be of use to them within 2 years. Its as much of a leap of faith as banking on Anderson. 2021 2nd, yes. Montour for Anderson +, yes. 0% chance their moving a 2020 pick, especially on hope that a player recovers

I was about to go all "those are not guys we need and we'd rather keep the Captain" and then I realized which pick that was, and now I'm horribly confused. Why in the world would Buffalo give that pick up, like, at all, let alone for that package?
