I understand the reasoning behind trading Poolparty, but personally I'd like to see him try one more time with the Oilers. Poolparty had 53 points in 56 games in the Finnish league whereas Middelstadt only had 25 in 36 in the AHL. I wouldn't hate that trade if it happened just my preference.

Is Luke Glendening any good? Or was it a cap move?

Glendening sure but nothing in that trade is tempting enough to part with bernier. We need to add a goalie as it is.

Apparently Puljujarvi might give the oilers another try, we his exact words I think was “never say never”. I would like for him to come back also, because I think if we trade him he will turn out into a very good player that we missed on. Luke Glendening is ok, but not a 3c.

Not interested in either player or cap hits unless DRAFT PICKS IN 1..OR 2ND rd are attached...we'll get assets for bernier & glendening at tdl ...we have 0 interest in your 2 players we have a ton of young fwds & D ..we need to evaluate FIRST...no ty

Yeah fair enough. Wanted to trade him for this exercise to see how value stacks up. Glendending is fine, it was more cap to move out Russell and replace with a C - makes room for Jones / Bouchard too

Yeah prob unrealistic if Detroit doesn’t first make a bigger move for a long term goalie...

Glenny had 9 pts last year and Bernier is a 31 yo replacement level backup. Maybe I’m way off but I don’t see anybody giving up a first or second for these two...plus you could flip Russell for potentially another 4th-5th rounder / mid tier prospect

Glendening plays mostly in defensive situations. He is still fairly quick and he is very good in face offs.
