Why dump murray... he is going to be your starting tender. Secondly Pouliot is already NHL ready and Honka hasn't proved anything yet

You have to trade one of them to get value. Fleury was great last year in the regular season before going down, and remains a top 10 goalie in the league. My guess is he starts next season where we left off last season and GM JR starts to kick the tires on what he can get out of Murray before the trade deadline hits.

As far as Pouliot, the Penguins already have 6 solid defensemen, and while it is nice to have 7 going into the playoffs, Pouliot isn't the guy I would want to trust coming into a series the way that Schultz did last postseason. He is NHL ready, making him more of a lure for Dallas who is having young players compete for those 5th and 6th Defensemen spots.

I think the trade makes sense for both teams.

It is better than losing Murray for nothing when Flower doesn't waive his NTC.

Someone would offer more. They can always make trades after the playoffs but before the exp. draft too. If they move Murray it doesn't have to be a deadline thing

I think you are still running a risk here. GM's understand the situation and will still low-ball the offer. I think the best case scenario is a solid start to the season to back up his Stanley Cup play and then shipping him off to a contender with goalie issues or injuries.
