Askarov just turned 18 years old, as a goalie he won't be playing in the leaugue for years to come. As great as a prospect he is I'd rather get two blue chip forward prospects if Drysdale isn't available at 5. Not many goalies have been able to carry their teams in the NHL anymore

Thats just a straight up lie. It just happened with St. Louis

If you are referring to Binnington carrying his team he didn't even win the Conn Smyth for playoff MVP, if he was the sole reason they won the cup he would have been rewarded it . If you are referring to Binningtons age even though it was his rookie season he was still 26 years old that had played in 7 previous seasons on professional hockey before he made it as a full time NHLer as a third round pick. Just another point that it is to hard to predict goalie prospects as guys taken in later round are consistently turning into the top net minders

Joey had a down year, but this is a bad trade for NSH. Risto creates 5D to protect in expansion. If NSH needs to save money and contract years, that happens by moving Turris.

You don't have to protect risto, if seattle takes him fabbro can just step in

No Im talking about Binnington carrying them through that regular season, and the arguments that were easily made for him to win Conn Smythe

Sounds so simple. In practice, not so much.

Interesting trades. I'd have to think both teams at least discuss the details and give your offers due consideration.

Why don't they just leave Johansen unprotected then? A year of Johansen is better than a year of Risto.

Which is why I went to the extreme opposite

Which makes no sense for Nashville. Why not just offer picks/prospects if you're interested in Johansen? Keep Risto and Johanssson, as NSH doesn't have much use for them anyway.

I disagree

Then why are you trying to acquire him in 1 for 1 trade for Risto? This all makes less sense than the Sabres 2013-14 3rd jerseys.

He only played 32 games in that regular season I wouldn't call that carrying by any means

They went from last to playoffs in that 32 games (32 from December on) they then went on to win the cup. So idk how, other than for the sake of your own argument, you dont consider that carrying
