I think if you take out the second rounder, it becomes fair.

Do you think the difference between Nylander and Marner is Ellis? Because Forsberg is a little better than Nylander.

Leave the 2nd. Take out Ellis and Dermott. NSH adds a small piece (Watson? 3rd?).

I would agrue, A, Nylander is a tiny bit better, and B, Dermott holds about the value of a second. And 100% Nylander is not as good as Marner. But he’s still a very valuable player.

Na, I’d rather keep Marner.

Thats my point though, Forsberg is arguably a top 10 LW in the league (8-12 range) and Nylander probably sits in the 10-15 ranged for RW. Ellis is a top end defenseman, essentially a better version of Muzzin.

I agree somewhat with where you placed them, but I think they are around the 15 mark, both of them. Dermott+ a first and a bit more is what I’d pay for Ellis, so that would make Marner a bit more than the value of a first over Marner, which I think is reasonable.

Well Nashville would laugh at that offer for Ellis so there's that.

As for LW's better than Forsberg i have; Ovi, Marchand, Panarin, Stamkos (now), Johnny, Hall, Guentzel, Huberdeau, Giroux, and M. Tkachuk. Forsberg gets criminally underrated due to a small market and Nashville's defense first system.

I think that list is reasonable. He is an underrated player. How about Ryan Johansen retained 3 mil instead of Forsberg?

Any RyJo trade with retention would probably look similar to what you retained on Kessel. 3M retention for 6 years is crazy, especially for a cup contender

You were asking about RyJo not Forsberg.

My point was no competitor is retaining 3M for 6 years on a top 6 player
