Description

I think LA will take Byfield instead of Stuzle but if they don't Ottawa will take Byfield. I think Detroit will take Rossi but if they take Drysdale Ottawa takes Rossi. Stuzle might make the roster but I heard he might go back to Germany. I see Byfield and Drysdale going back to the OHL. If I;m Ottawa why rush them if they're not going to make playoffs next year anyway. I think Rossi is ready for the NHL. I would like to see him gain 5-10 more pounds though. I like Ottawa's goalie prospects but if you could come out of the draft with a top 3 forward, the best d-man and the best goalie in the draft. WOW! Also I think it's quality over quantity at this point. So package picks and prospects together for a top player. #Melnykout

Now that Eriksson bonus for this year he has been paid he has 5 million in salary over 2 years left. Being paid less than his cap hit by a lot. Assuming Ottawa wouldn't be on his no trade list to get out of Vancouver. Baertschi salary is less than his cap hit and if Ottawa can't re-sign Duclair he could be a backup plan as he was still productive in the Ahl last year. Vanouver needs the cap space to resign their RFA and UFA's. Wikstrand will never play with Ottawa.

Arizona needs the Hossa contract to maximize LTIR benefit. They won't trade it.

Big nope to trading Daccord. He's a good G prospect, and probably the best one we have. Paying that kind of price to move up is not smart. Trading up rarely makes sense.

Montreal doesn’t have any interest in trading down, and they don’t need a goalie prospect. Plus 9th is a bit too high to pick Askarov IMO, maybe a slightly lower pick would make more sense.
