Mtl is kind of a weird squad like you said, they win a couple deals large and draft middle of the road and keep adding journeyman dman, they shine up there trade wins and all of sudden they are rumoured out of town. I would probably try to add a piece to help kk or Suzuki if they don’t feel like the nucleus they have there is quite right. But ya not entirely sure what’s next there.

If the Jets got Lafreniere I wonder what the Habs would give up for him.

If the Jets got Lafreniere I wonder what the Habs would give for him? But is he worth trading for a haul or just keep him and his ELC, he'd basically be a Wheeler replacement.

Ya I think we have gone round and round on this one a few times, what happened to middlestadt hype in buffalo? Time to try to pick off some potential or overpay for something that should be a sure thing. I’m at the expensive route that could hurt, but like you said scheifele and wheeler not getting any younger.

Yeah we have, there's just a shortage of centers in the league and the Jets have not drafted enough of them.

I would want Suzuki/kk with Romanov/brook and a couple firsts not overly protected, or more lol. I wouldnt want to have to protect any of the adds and maybe protected top 3 or something. Lindros type deal

Lafreniere should bring some equivalent of 4/5 firsts, depending on protection spots as far as expansion goes and try to bring the adds needed for a helluva a 3/5 year run.

Ottawa would be interesting place for a buy on lafreniere, I would love a Tkachuk back in wpg and fill 2c possibly with 3rd or 5th pick overall along with brannstrom possibly. Not sure what ottawa has in mind for a splash this draft. But interesting place for them to get them to 1st, 5th and another first later in round 1

Ottawa isn't trading that much for Lafreniere, I know he's supposed to be amazing but I can't see a rebuilding team dealing that many good pieces that are key to the rebuild for one, maybe but I doubt it.

I'd be happy with Haula signed, the best center drafted with the the Jets 1st round pick and Little returning to the lineup.. Lol

One can always dream lol I was hoping for a laine pick at 2 and coming back up and trying to scoop Mathew tkachuk in same draft. That could have been expensive but wouldn’t need much more for wingers.

Did you notice Samberg in there? Don't think he was in there originally or I didn't notice him anyway, this seems like a lot to give up for Kotkaniemi who's still very unproven at this point.

Ya sure. Giving up 3 solid futures for a centre upgrade is hard. But this gives the jets a 2c. At the moment, he is not a great 2c. But in 3-4 years, he might be a great player, and a wonderful 2c. I would agree that he's not the best way to spend those picks. Rather get a more ready guy.

I could see something along the lines of Laf for Kotkaniami, Suzuki and maybe Domi. All three would help the jets a lot, as they could a be solid 2c's, especially Domi.
