With Aho, Trocheck, Necas, Staal and Martinook as their centers I don't see CAR needing Strome.

I like the idea of Strome, but Foegele straight-up has more value

Bean is the most NHL ready D prospect in the world... no... Bean would instantly become what, you're 3rd best D man? He's VERY good. Fleury works, but I don't think you're gonna get much more. Strome is gonna want a LOT after being a Panarin product all year.

No, I think that Strome has way more value than Foegele, at least right now. He had a career season this year, plays a 2-way game, and is a right shot.

Ryan Strome had 60 points with Artemi Panarin contributing on 80% of them. Foegele is better defensively younger, and in my opinion, just better.

I don't think that Strome's extension will break the bank that much. Maybe the Pageau contract, at best. He's not going to be a UFA, though, but an RFA with arbitration rights. I see him getting somewhere in the 4x$4.5M range.

You understand early projections are north of 6, right? All because Artemi Panarin is a freak

I posted the idea not because I expect Strome to produce like he did with Panarin. He was already a useful player before Panarin came on board, particularly as a 3C. Strome is also pretty young, still. A 4 year extension would only take him to age-31.

Canes are notoriously hardball. If Strome really thinks he's worth that much, he can take a 1x3.7 and see if he can replicate it without the Breadman. I doubt that would turn out well for him.

I agree Strome has his uses, I'm just saying.... Foegele's uses are worth more and will cost less.

Foegele can't play center and has stone for hands. I think that the slightly better defensive metrics don't make up for the fact that Strome has more offensive skill and can play the pivot.
