The Leafs' D were the softest in the league this year. This D is much, much softer. If the opposing team gets into the Leafs zone they might as well just skate to the bench and wait for the faceoff at center ice.

Haha, then I guess VAN would keep Stecher. He's solid defensively and shouldn't have a huge salary. Not saying Dermott isn't worth more in a trade, but at this point Stecher is more valuable on the ice.
