Move Tyler to center. Cooper said it was his natural position and he hoped it helped getting Tyler going. IMO, he is at center because they have their fingers crossed he does well and there is a market for him after the seasons. Got to shed 2 or 3 big contracts.
Consider TJ gone, for whatever value we can get for him. Probably a 2nd atm i think. I can't see him in
jersey in 2020/2021 season. NTC's are basically even less important now... gg Tyler thanks for being part of the team for many many years... hopefully he leaves with a cup
Coburn also i have a feeling gonna get traded. Almost 90% sure about that... Cal Foote maybe next year as 3rd pairing?
And the hard(from an emotional view) part is: Killorn/Palat/Gourde. 1 of these 3 needs to get moved, although i'm not sure about this part. Maybe Paquette moving is enough, depends how much Cirelli wants. The rest of the guys i'm not worried at all. Will Cirelli be ok with a 4 mill contract @ 1-2 years? I hope he is just as a cool guy, as Pointerz in the negotation periods. I think a "labanc" like deal could also work with even less than 4 million for 1 year... Labanc was 1 million though, that's a little bit on the low side after a close to 60 point season.... i'm sure Tony wants a little more than that
I can't wait for all the garbage GM's calling him for offersheets and he sends them to hell each one of them.
Serg/Cernak:those contracts are really easy to negotiate... 3rd pair D never gets premium salary, unless long term 6+ years(not happening because of virus+cap reasons).
Cernak had a down year, so he can't command any out of the world salary, around 3 mill(maybe less) my guess, again we talking about 3 years or less contracts, which are bridges which are always on the low side.
Shatty we might keep him, if he is cool with a little raise... if not it's ok... if we can find a better defender than Bogosian/Schenn, that's a win in my book... for less than 2 million $... if not we might trade for a cheap 1-2 million older type of guy, who is better than Coburn...
I really want to keep Killorn... so i hope Cooper by giving Killorn a 1st line tryout role.... thinks the same... and we will move Gourde instead...(or Palat)
TLDR: All other topics are saying in this site:cap hell for us --> i'm saying 1 or 2 fairly simple trades and easy time for BriseBois... whatever value he gets from the trades... it's good enough... Killorn for less than a 1st round still ok... even though i would be sad... less value in this case considering the covid situation is ok now... we need to win anyways this playoffs or the next one... then find new cheap "gems" for the 2021/2022 season...
We solved our cap problems at trade deadline, most people for some reason failing to realize that... Tampa fans i think get it
Those trades were the "sad" trades(coleman+goodrow)... the other ones will be "okay" category or better...
