ignore the contract years minus toews they were gonna be 7 each but forgot to change.. they have the cap room for those moves still if they offload hickey and varly and potentially eberle or bailey if Ishakov/Holmstrom pan out don't want parise but hypothetically this is how i saw it fitting

With a flat cap , the isles can not afford to take parise contract unless they retain 50%, which they won’t do.

I’m not sure if you got the idea for toews contract from staple, but there is no chance he takes that contract. He’s our 2nd best defenseman. Pulock will get 6.5 on a 7 year deal.

Beau gets at least 4.5 next season and if sorokin plays like shestyerkin he’ll get a long term deal at 6.5-7 mill.

Im basically rooting for them to win but I won’t be disappointed if they lose. I want them to win so barzal gets more playoff experience , but a chance at the #1 pick isn’t bad either.

i think with a lot of manipulation they could but totally not worth it i agree... saw a johnny g for pulock proposal that i like a lot would probably need to throw a mid rounder which is still worth it to me.. id love Laf but still rooting for isles to win rn

Also add in the fact that they would have to protect him in the expansion draft because he has a NMC. That also means that they can never send him to Bridgeport to save cap space if he falls off a cliff in the next few years, which is possible. It would be reckless to trade for Parise after covid, which is why I think there’s no chance it happens.

If gaudreau had more term I’d make that trade, I’m not trading pulock for 2 years of control.
