yeah well i know it is, but if you got an explanation from me for all the i made up players it might seem sort of more normal, but that explanation would take a long time to read so if you want it you have to ask for them

That Preds trade would never ever happen and the Tampa trade would go through

Ellis is a great defensemen and is worth more than a first to give you an idea

Alzner has negative value and Folin isn’t worth much. You have to give to get. This wouldn’t even go through in NHL 20 on easy difficutly even if you added a first round pick to give you an idea of how this trade is lopsided.

It’s a better deal for sure but you have to take i to account that Alzner basically has the negative value of a second round pick. I don’t think Nashville will really want to take Alzner’s contract at all and I don’t think they’re shopping Ellis either, which means you might have to overpay. Montreal really doesn’t need to get rid of Alzner either with their current cap situation. They could just wait until his deal expires and avoid losing futures to get rid of his deal. They can simply bury him in the AHL like they’ve been doing as of late until the deal’s over. TBH there is really not point in acquiring Ellis when we have a similar player in Petry.
