the canucks pick is protect in the top 15, so it will work only if the nucks lose against the wild in the qualification round and the team between 9-15 will probably be at different position

I may be biased as a Wings fan, but I think we make better trade partners for this. Similar deal, New Jersey's pick, and whichever of VAN or ARI's pick is later ~18-25. Then Drysdale is safe.
Detroit seem most hot on Perfetti, who would still be there at NJ's pick.
I also really think Anaheim takes a long look at Sanderson, their forward pipeline looks very good, but their D, not so much.
aedoran liked this.

would you trade down TODAY with the Blackhawks for a possible 25% chance of Laffy?

Probably not since the Blackhawks have a good chance of beating the oilers. I might trade down with the Wild instead

Yea probably but I felt like Ottawa was a better fit since they already have a top 5 pick so they would be fine with trading down.

Either way the Sens would get two top 15-20ish picks

If Detroit thought they could get Perfetti, who seems to be their guy with the NJ pick I'm pretty confident they'd take it.

I'm not saying you're wrong. The only thing I'd also consider is that IF the wild lose AND the Hawks lose. There's a little risk management. Going from 7 to 10 isn't as harsh as 7 to 12. BUT I hear ya! Cheers!

I would disagree...Ducks have 823 LD's already. Sanderson looks good, but if Drysdale is gone by the time their pick comes around, they'll take the best player available (I'd assume Raymond or Holtz), and then take a RD with the Boston pick.

Sorry I read that wrong. If it was NJ's 2020 1st and Arizona's 2020 1st I'd take that.
