Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Bennett, Sam ($1,000,000 retained)
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Johnsson has more value than Bennett. Bennett is grittier and can take draws, seems like a pretty even swap. CGY retains 1M since he only has one year left.
CGY
  1. Johnsson, Andreas
  2. 2020 4th round pick (TOR)
2.
TOR
  1. Jones, Max
  2. Manson, Josh
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (ANA)
ANA
  1. Bracco, Jeremy [RFA Rights]
  2. Dermott, Travis [RFA Rights]
  3. Kapanen, Kasperi
  4. 2020 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Toronto gives up considerably more value in this trade - Kapanen for Manson is a wash, Dermott is looking more promising than Jones. That combined with Bracco nets us an upgrade in pick.
3.
TOR
  1. Woo, Jett
  2. 2020 4th round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Woo > Holl, but Holl is a serviceable No. 4 dman on a cheap contract that can replace Tanev. Canucks need the help right now as the window opens. Woo's potential nets them a 2 round upgrade and gives Toronto a much needed gritty, puck moving RD prospect.
VAN
  1. Holl, Justin
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (TOR)
4.
TOR
  1. 2020 1st round pick (TBL)
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (WSH)
SJS
  1. Andersen, Frederik
Additional Details:
This is a more than fair trade to give the Sharks a much needed starting goalie to run it back. That 1st is going to be at the latter end of the 1st round. I don't see the Sharks rebuilding if they intend on keeping Burns, Karlsson, Kane etc.
5.
TOR
  1. Murray, Matt [RFA Rights]
PIT
  1. Der-Arguchintsev, Semyon
  2. 2020 4th round pick (VAN)
  3. 2020 6th round pick (COL)
  4. 2021 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Murray has played his way out of PIttsburgh and JR isn't afraid to make changes. Buy low on a guy who would be a good platoon-mate for Campbell. If Pens decide to hang onto him, try to make a play for Tristan Jarry

Those trades heavily favor the Leafs IMO. If the other teams would actually agree I'm all over that.

Vancouver declines easily, Holl has little to no value as far as I'm concerned and Woo is worth at least high-end 2nd and probably more by himself.

Edited them a bit, it's probably more realistic now.

On these notes, I'm sure we all tend to overvalue our own prospects - I edited the trade to more accurately reflect what I believe the current values on both players are. Keep in mind, you guys are entering a competitive window here and need to replace Tanev in case he decides to leave.

Vancouver still declines there are much better Tanev replacements we could get for around the same price and trading Woo for a 2nd isn't worth it

Sharks easily decline, not getting a 5M rental meh goalie for a 1st and a 3rd. especially when they could just sign a better goalie on the UFA market for cheaper.

The Flames have never retained salary in a transaction, and I doubt they would start now with a flat cap and also for a player that isn't really over paid.

It's for a year, if they could add a top 6 winger for eating salary for 1 year I think they do it. They have the room to.

Respectfully disagree here, I think it's a fair deal. You're getting the 2nd + a serviceable No 4 dman. Either way we could just trade Holl for picks, that's not really a major move lmao

Yeah I could see them doing that. Wouldn't call him a meh goalie though, he had one bad year and the other years he was .917 sv%+. Point is, some team out there would be willing to take the plunge. Idk if we'd get a 1st but we'd for sure get multiple high picks.
