Goodrow wasn’t worth the 1st we got and you want to trade it back to them.... that’s poor GM skill

I would like to say yes, but this team could be so bad, that we have to end up relocating. So you've got the job, but only if the org hasn't been driven into the ground by the time you can take over lol.

The fans will endure this is a good market!!! You’ve seen my teams I make logical choices, the only fan dweeb choices I make are Thornton and marleau but those guys have earned a spot as long as they want one at 1mil or less

Hey that's true. And I too make those "fan dweeb choices" like Jumbo and Patty so you're not gonna hear any complaints from me!

Lots of fans are wanting to see the kids step up and if we had 2-3 ready I’d say yea but they are all still 1-2 years away .... if ever. And both can still play. Not at their old level but still better than most 4th liners

Yeah the prospect pool is doing okay, but like you said they still need some time. That's just a product of not picking very high every year. Whatcha gonna do... But guys like Patty and Jumbo are totally still serviceable. If we can't find options that are undoubtedly better than them, I say keep them around. They can still play. They can still produce. And they fill bottom six roster spots than some other guys/young guys that aren't ready. (Also Patty's been my favorite player since I was a child so there's some slight bias)

Karlsson is still good and Yzerman wanted him bad in Tampa. He'd be a good player to build around.
Karlsson is a RHD. Detroit already has it's top 2 pair RHD: Hronek and Seider. He's good now...but has been injury prone the last few years. Do you want a 11.5M cap hit on him in ages 34-37 given that?

Yzerman wanted him to a point. Several articles exist on how he used rumors to drive up his price in order to hurt rival teams while targeting Ryan McDonagh via trade. He knew Karlsson would mean having to give up both 22-year-old Brayden Point or 20-year-old Mikhail Sergachev in the future when they needed to get paid and that would be for five or six years of Karlsson, who was then 28. That same reasoning applies to the Wings and their young prospects today only Karlsson is 2 years old and that 5-6 years has now shrunk to 3-5 years.

"Poor GM skill"
Coming from a guy who has 0 ACGMs. Awfully convienent, huh?

It sounds like a receipe for desastor because you have no knowledge on coaching and can't rap your brain around around something that hasn't been tried before.

Mieire can't make a pass to save his life and Isn't even that good. Burakovsky and Nich had great years and will continue to improve. They also have a strong two way game. That's not a fleece.

Pavelski is not over the hill and he was the heart and soul of this team. Kane is a lockeroom cancer and not even that good.

Karlsson had a good year offensively, that was obvious. Someone will trade for him if he is sold for that cheap. Steve Y was extremely interested in him before the Sharks acquired him. He would be a great D man to have for their rebuild.

Your only solid point was the UFA contracts signed. Might take more to bring them back.

The way I see it, Wilson got rid of the wrong guys, traded for the wrong guys, and kept the wrong guys. Wilson is a prime example of bad GM skill. Good try though.

Could be you never know.

The more likely scenario is we’re two dedicated Shark fans who know a lot about this team, and we agree upon a decent portion of the topics because we actually know what would be best for our team. But hey what do we know.

1st I have like 20 AGM’s on here,

2nd if it hasn’t been tried it’s probably cause it won’t work!
A solid shut down 4th line can match up with a 1st for a shift or two... but to go head to head a full game your asking players with far less skill and talent to go head to head with the other teams best.... there is a reason it isn’t done it’s suicide!

3rd Meir is a 23 year old 30 goal scoring power forward, your underselling him big time period.

4th Pavalski is 36 in a young mans league and is clearly showing signs of regression! He had his last great season he will never top 25 goal again he’s slow and his skill is fading
I love the guy he’s a Shark forever but not at 7 mil and I’m not trading Kane for him.

5th for the short window Karlsson wasn’t hurt .... again he was good offensively..... and horrific defensively.... I mean absolutely pathetic! Plus he has a no trade clause and I doubt he wants to raise his little girl in Detroit.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WB9y-yBr-N0

Wilson kept the right guys.... but gave them horrible contract and set us up for failure he is a poor GM who covets Offensive D men because he’s narcissistic and that’s what he was!

The one are I might be wrong is the FA with a flat cap and uncertainty in the nhl guys might have to take lowball 1-2 year deals cause that’s all that will be out there.
