no they aern't. This guy is a pens fan and doesn't know the hawks situation one bit.

I'm more than capable of looking at their situation and forming an opinion but thanks. Every ACGM I see from Hawks fans assumes De Haan and Maata get moved for picks and at least one of Seabrook and Shaw are on LTIR next year, which I tend to disagree with as a premise

Let me know when you see it. No one on LTIR and only one defenseman traded

The threat of an offer sheet does, and players get moved before the sheets happen for around the value the offer sheet would be, which is why I see Strome as worth less than a first. Not sure why any of that is so complicated.

Strome is getting bridged for around $3.5M to $4M. If a team offer sheets, the team has the option to first match which the Hawks will do. The only way the Hawks lose him is for a 1st and 3rd and again, very highly unlikely. Strome is worth a 1st and a decent NHL potential prospective player all day long. If you disagree, it not only flies in the face of what people are telling you here, but also what respected sources like The Athletic are saying as well. Bottom line, there isn't a chance Strome is worth a 2nd or getting a OS for a 2nd so null and void point.

Wrong, completely inaccurate. It's well known that Smith will be bought out, one of De Haan or Maatta gets traded and both are easily tradable (worse case Maatta's buyout is only $680K), and nobody is putting Seabs or Shaw (that is a regular) on LITR. Hawks don't need to do anything but those 2 moves. Do an AGM and figure it out...it's quite easy.

What team you like has nothing to do with it. I’m a Dallas fan and I’m perfectly capable of understanding Chicago’s cap situation. Some people just see a team up against the cap and assume they’re in a tight spot. Yes, Chicago, Tampa, etc are going to be watered down some next year. But they’ll cut depth before they lose core players or lose players for less than they’re worth. 100%

Only two moves are needed; buyout Smith and move De Haan or Maatta (or buyout Maatta for only $680k). It's not difficult to see the Hawks are not in the situation Tampa is or even the Leafs.

For sure. I was just making a point. Y’all aren’t against it nearly as bad as some of those other teams but you will lose some depth
