Not sure why you wouldn’t just draft Askarov at 14 and wait 2-3 years tbh, he’ll be fantastic and Jones-Bear Broberg-Bouchard will be established as a legitimate top 4 by then. Ottawa probably accepts, not so sure about Vancouver, maybe if they lose Tanev? If Anaheim doesn’t take that some other team probably would.

I don’t think McDavid is gonna wait 2-3 years till the goalie situation stabilizes. They need to start contending and fast. Best player in the world will get aggravated at some point if their isn’t immediate improvement.

Signing Greiss or Khudobin to platoon with Koskinen could probably tide you over until Askarov is ready honestly, with Holland's depth tweaks that are sure to come you could probably make the playoffs every year and win a round or two. They're only like 2 decent middle six forwards away from being able to win a playoff series or two.
