True, but he's useless 5 on 5...Would help your PP, but that's about it.

Man, I think this might be the first time I've considered moving 6 OA from Anaheim...I don't know if I could do it, but it probably makes a lot of sense.

DeAngelo for Ducks lottery pick sounds better to me. Maybe the Ducks say no and prefer to build on their own with the pick, that's fair....but it's more in line with his value.

I am not sure why the undervalue on a 24 year old RFA controlled 60+ point RHD.

Flat cap+super talented draft class=Cheap, cost controlled talent. Impossible to pass that up when ADA is likely getting $6+ on his next deal.

Don't get me wrong, he's extremely good, but I'm taking multiple years of control of Drysdale, Holtz, Raymond, or whoever is available at that point 100% of the time.

I don't think we're unreasonable...it's just extremely hard to give up a lotto pick in a super talented draft class, especially with a flat cap for the next couple of years. Easier for the Ducks to weaponize their cap space to take advantage, than to spend it all on one (albeit very talented) guy.

Heck, they might as well draft at 6 OA, and try to sign Petro.

Absolutely, a team rebuilding should be thinking that way, agreed! I meant from the value standpoint, he's worth it straight up. If the Ducks don't want the contract coming down the road, then the above proposed trade doesn't make sense...both from the contract standpoint and my point about value. Neither side agrees.

Yeah for sure. He's excellent.

I remember him being a headcase at one point...is that still the case?

I'd consider it. I guess it would all sort of depend on what GMBM's plan's are for free agency...If he's going to open the books and chase after Pietrangelo, then I'd rather have 6 OA. If not, this would be worth considering.

He has a mouth on him, that is definitely true. It's good because he has balls and doesn't take ****..you need that on teams. It can also be bad if he doesn't shut up and takes penalties...or barks up the wrong tree and the result backfires on the team. He's gotten better, and as he matures I am sure he will continue to reign it in. I think that maturation has bore out in his play, the more focused he is on the game the better he plays. I think he's even outperforming what people thought he would be!

Tons of players around the NHL have the same issue though, I am not sure he stands out anymore than anyone else in that regard.
