Yeah I have no clue lol - but I highly doubt they go for hall or Hoffman. They will need to add to their offense with Dobson, wahlstrom, and koivula this season, by 21-22 (assuming bailey is traded)

Beau-barzal-wahlstrom
Lee-nelson -golyshev
Koivula-pageau-eberle

One prospect I’m excited about is iskhakov , he’s a smaller version of beauvillier with better hands. He’s boom or bust prospect, but he has so much skill and pretty good work ethic.

Not a huge fan of Golyshev in the top 6. I like Iskakov, but I try to not get me hopes up on a boom or bust guy

Good point, I wouldn’t b surprised if he pulls sm real shady and gets Ladd and maybe even Leo and/or Boychuk contracts disappear

That’s my gut feeling lol - I feel like there’s no way lou is going to let a guy like ladd or boychuk ruin his last chance at competing for a cup.

If it means keeping Barzal I’m sure he would

Ladd and boychuk haven't played a game in a while 100% see something happening there.. don't see it happening with Leo think he's on the team next year but i could also see boychuk 'retiring' if he's still experiencing concussion/injury issues and potentially coming back around as a coach in the future

If golyshev was able to come over for next season, I have no doubt he’d be on the 2nd line. The difference between him and that guy who came over to Vegas (forgot his name) is that golyshev can drive a line. He’s also a good playmaker.

I dont think its an issue of ruining their last potential run in the issue of Ladd would be more so boychuk but winning this year would mitigate that anyways so I meaaaaaan

If lou wants to sign barzal long term (I’m sure he does) , I can see him pulling off some shady moves.

You just never know how a KHL guy can translate to North American ice. Remover Jan Kovar? 😂

I remember that he said he was looking at houses on the island for the season after next he'd be a reaaaaal good fit to play next to Pageau from the highlights I've seen a future line of Holstrom/Ishkakov-Pageau-Golyshev sounds like a lot of fun to me

I called Jan Kovar not making the team before training camp started lol. I don’t trust any player in the KHL who can’t drive a line and plays with other elite players.

That’s a fair point. Idk much ab golyshev so I’ll take your word for him being able to drive a line

I don’t think golyshev will be a star , but he’s good enough to be a solid 2nd line winger. He’s very well rounded. At one point he was compared to panarin (2016?) so I am still on the hype train 😂

He’s definitely not coming next season, it was reported he was looking for a house on Long Island 4 months ago. He’ll be here for the 21-22 season.

Regarding prospects , the only 2 prospects (out of the top 10) that I am down on compared to a majority of the fanbase is bellows and bolduc. I’m high on wahlstrom, wilde, Holmstrom, and koivula.

High on Koivula? Interesting, he looked pretty bad at the nhl level. Also I’m surprised ab Bolduc, it seems a lot of the fan base is high on him. I’m not the biggest holmstrom fan, but I’m not terrible down on him

Koivula put up very good numbers in the finish elite league and he got even better after coming to NA. Hasn’t really had any major setbacks. I see as a high end 3rd line winger, I think he’ll provide excess value relative to his future contract because not only does he have good finishing ability, but he has great defensive instincts.

As we’ve seen with Leddy, playing with an anchor has a big affect on performance.. Koivula played between komarov and Martin, how can he be effective with 2 pylons?

Bolduc is a great skater and has a good shot, but I just don’t see him being anything more than a Scott mayfield (who is nothing more than a good 3rd pairing guy). He can prove me wrong and eventually become a 2nd pairing D, I just don’t see it.

Holmstrom has good hands, high hockey IQ, and borderline elite skating ability. That’s enough to give him a high floor, and I think there’s a good chance he can be a top 6 winger. If he wasn’t injury prone, he would have been a consensus 1st rd pick.

If Bolduc becomes a LH Scott Mayfield that’s a success as a 2nd rounder, but I could see him becoming a Slavin lite. Good point about Otto. Holmstroms performance in the AHL this season j gets me worried

That would be great, I’m all for bolduc proving me wrong.

Are you going just by points with Holmstrom or did you watch him play?

considering that scrub Brent Thompson tells all of forward prospects to not focus on points in their first years, id take the counting numbers with a grain of salt. He skates like beau and has hands like nelson. He’s pretty good, hopefully Thompson doesn’t f*ck with his development.

Oh yeah, forgot ab the dreaded Thompson factor. He needs to go. If the Hawks fire Coilton, I wouldn’t mind him as HC of Bridgeport, I think he’d be good for development

I love the NSH and ANA deals. Great trades for both teams. I love the idea of bringing in a guy like Jarnkrok. Versatile and plays a style that Trotz would love coming from Nashville.

The LAK trade I'm really not a fan of, I'd like a prospect to come back with them. But if that's what it's going to take to save all that cap space, I can't complain.
