First off, great trade for TOR. Dubas received way above and beyond what most people believed Kapanen's trade value to be. But being that Kapanen is only 24 years old, his game should naturally improve for at least the next 2-3 years.

Last season at age 23, Kapanen scored 20 G and had 44 Points. Most of those goals/points came playing on the top 6 when a spot had opened up for him, so he proved at age 23 that he could be quite effective playing on a top line with an elite center (Tavares or Matthews).

I believe Malkin will have similar chemistry with Kapanen as he did with Kessel by using his speed and skill to open up the ice for Malkin to make plays. If played with Crosby, having enough speed to keep up with Crosby should give Kapanen many scoring chances in particular on the rush when Crosby forces the opponents team defense to collapse toward him.

That actually is not correct, he had a spurt with Matthews at the beginning of the year where he was nearly a point a game but then completely fell apart in the 2nd half and playoffs. He was on pace for 35 goals at one point and it took him to the last couple of days before he made it to 20. He failed at making a mark in the top 6 this year again. He's inconsistent and all around not very good. At 24 he should be hitting his prime but I am not sure he knows what he needs to be to be effective. He's super fast, but his shot is average at best, he isn't a good skater and his stick handling is just okay. He never goes hard to the net unless it's on a breakaway and for all the grit he gets credit for, he doesn't hit much or really offer grit. He also disappears in the playoffs
