Description

Based off the Kapanen trade. Since 2017-18, Kapanen has 40 goals and 79 points in 185 games while Virtanen has 43 goals and 81 points in 214 games so the similarity is not far off. Plus Jake is physical and cheaper than Kapanen. He would be a great fit with MacKinnon or Kadri. Is the deal fair?

Highway robbery for Vancouver

Virtanen is expansion draft fodder at this point. Decent energy winger and those can be had from the UFA market for like 2M to 3M why spend a 1st in a deep draft

Also the Kapanen trade is a huge win for Toronto I don’t think it’s a good one to benchmark trades with

Understand what you're trying to do but big overpayment for Colorado. Virtanen doesn't fit in COL at all.

No way. Just because Rutherford overpaid for a middle 6 guy doesnt mean Sakic will too. Sakic hasnt traded a 1st round pick since he became GM

He took some heavy criticism before the 17-18 season but he's made a ton of terrific moves since then

It’s fair if Virtanen were to be traded. If Kapanen gets a 1st+, Virtanen gets a 1st minimum.

Also lmao to whoever said he’s expansion draft fodder. Go put up nearly a week 20-20 season while being extremely physical and can skate like the wind.
