  1. Athanasiou, Andreas [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Preds get back some speed and scoring potential.
EDM
  1. Bonino, Nick ($500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Oilers get a two-way center who could help shore up some of their defensive issues. Plus, the wingers who play with McDavid/Draisaitl are somewhat interchangeable, so no need to break the bank on them.

AA > Bonino
I think Nsh will have to add a pick

No thanks. I'd maybe do Chiasson or Russell(retained) for him but that's about it.

Would a pick (say, 3rd and a 4th) and/or more retained salary on Bonino make the deal more attractive?

Yup, $4.1 is upper range for what the Oilers can afford though, would have to be at least on par with free agency cap/value. I don't see Edmonton moving on from AA, sunk cost or whatever, we gave up 2 2nds for him. Think he's sticking around despite media speculation.

No way the Oilers are giving up on AA for a 32 year old 3rd line C thats making 4mil and then is most likely gone after a year. Hard no.

I don't think I do this deal, but if I combine it with a deal I tend to like and come out with something like:

Larsson + AA ---> Bonino + Jarnkrok (+ mid pick)

Would that intrigue you at all? NSH gets defensive depth/support to help either shelter Fabbro if he doesn't step up or secure the weak bottom pair if he does + high-end speed and some goal scoring ability while EMD gets a defensive 3C + a guy that might be a perfect fit alongside McDavid (defensively-responsible, RH faceoff guy, quality skater, and has a sneaky good shot)

Hamhuis has already announced his retirement. Signing Hall isn't a smart move for a team that's already a little soft and aged. I know he has a MVP season under Hynes, but the timing is bad for him coming to join the current NSH roster. NSH has to focus on younger talent coming into the lineup. Exception of AA trade, every other move keeps the team old or soft.

As a Preds fan, what moves would you like to see this offseason? It doesn't seem like you all have a ton of cap flexibility and some of those bigger contracts appear tough to move.

Oh man, I have a long wish list, haha. The main things that need to happen are getting younger and faster, provide more scoring depth in the middle 6 F group, and improve the 3rd D pair. My ideal lineup would be: Forsberg-Johansen-Arvidsson, Tolvanen-Duchene-Rakell, Killorn-Sissons-Tomasino, Trenin-Jarnkrok-Grimaldi, Josi-Ellis, Ekholm-Fabbro, Edmundson-Carrier.

Now, whether we can move Turris, Bonino, and Watson through trade (or potential buyout in Turris' case), and get Killorn and Rakell is another story. I'm assuming Edmundson will be too expensive, so an ideal, cheaper alternative would be Sekera. Removing Turris, Bonino, and Watson is around $11.5M in space, adding Rakell, Killorn, Tomasino, Trenin, Carrier is only in the $9.5M range. Let's assume Sekera is who we end up with and it comes out closer to $11.25M. This should meet all the goals with similar cap usage, imo.

Poile has to be creative with the cap, infuse some youth, and find that fresh, respected voice for the locker room who is gonna hold people accountable when they get lazy. Not an easy task, but if things don't start trending back up, it's likely time for a youth movement in the GM's office too.
