I wouldn't trade our 1st rounder this year. It could turn out into a great top6 winger for 10-15 years.

I think the trades are ok, lean slightly in MTL favor. The contract for Sergachev may be too low

Fair enough, it could be. But we would be trading it for a for a 22 years old LD who imo is perfect to pair with webber. A position that i think never got filled since weber got traded to montreal. That said i also think it’s a good idea to go for an other round of draft prospects

It mightbe to low,but i think it would be a bridge deal for Sergachev, hence the lower salary, Sergachev still had some troubles when asked to step up when headman was injured for a few games

Just curious here, I do like both trades and they both fill needs for the Habs. Where did the sergachev rumour come from? Is it the one that’s been around for a while or is a recent one with actual details about pieces going back like the Gaudreau one?

Like i said those are rumours, this rumour was in a column i have read not to long ago. I don’t remember who pleaded his case for sergachev, but it was probably due to the cap situation in tampa and the needs in montreal. I don’t remember if players were part of the pleading case. I don’t really think the trade would happen, i think tampa would rather part ways with a forward unless Mcdonaugh lifts his NTC. Then again they really have their hands tied with most of their big contracts having NTC or NMC tied to it
