I wouldnt mind seeing them spend some dollars and add a few more proven players instead of just taking chances on guys. Theyd never do it but it sign lehner to that deal in a second.

I'm not saying no outright. There's good ideas here. I do believe Mantha and Bertuzzi will take less. I think it would be a hard sell to the UFAs. If Lehner had stayed in Chicago through a regular season, he probably would have been good for $30M over 5 with Detroit. Now, I think he can get a comparable contract on a better team. I think Krug will get more - another year and another $700K. The only signing I really question wanting to do though is Bowey. It's a good contract that you propose, but I just don't want him back. And I certainly wouldn't play him over Nemeth. That leads me into lineup management. Seider going directly to first pair? Trial by fire I guess. Abandoning Ras's current development plans. Fabbri as a 2C over Haula. Svech on the fourth line. Hirose up before he's proven that he has bulked up and plays with more confidence. This is a bit of a cluster. Maybe after a season or two of not knowing what to do it would correct itself, but this would be quite the shock to the players and their performance.
