Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 27, 2020
Published: Aug. 27, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Draft:
7: Lundell, Holtz or Raymond
28: Lukas Reichel or Noel Gunler
34: Helge Grans or William Wallinder

Trades. The Devils could really use someone who can help them score, and still Marner is a great player if a team has a better salary structure than the Leafs

San Jose could use a good prospect

Toffoli would just fill in that one year till Hallander, or the newly drafted forwards would be able to compete for a spot.

I think NJD would do something around Severson and 2020 1st (any of them) for Marner and Dermott.

But I'd leave 2022 picks out.

I think you can discuss that, but I also threw in a 2022 second from the Leafs. The value is probably somewhere inbetween.

Would you do 7th and the Vancouver 1st (probably between 20th and 25th and Severson for, Marner, Dermott, and a Leafs 2nd?

Close - think worth looking at. NJD would probably rather get Liljegren back instead of Dermott or 2nd. If I had to counter, I would probably go with something like below. NJD needs quality at top and some depth long-term as well.

Damon Severson
2020 NJD 1st
2020 VAN 1st

for

Mitch Marner
Timothy Liljegren
Mike Koster or Nick Abruzzese
2020 TOR 2nd or 2021 TOR 2nd
2020 TOR 4th or 2021 TOR 4th

marner for severson, 2020 1st seems fair

Leafs clear space, get a RHD + a top 10 pick

they then can flip the Penguins pick for immediate help and then get lundell

I don't think Liljegren is an option for the Leafs.

Maybe a 2021 2nd and a 2022 third and not a 4th? but still with Dermott?
