Built to beat Canada and they can't even score a goal on Europe hahaha. Tortorella is already scoping out his drive on the next hole before even having one on the dancefloor.

Honestly though, they need more skill guys. A team can essentially plan to have a guy in Patrick Kane's face all night and then you are just left with a bunch of power forwards and Pacioretty getting yelled at. The team is built to dominate if they get up early, wearing down the other team's defense, and playing a gritty style of hockey but they clearly had no plan of attack of coming back from a deficit. At least we know Big Buff will be in there for the rest of the tournament (see 2 games).

It absolutely baffles me how team usa could pick plugs like Kesler, Callahan, Dubinsky, & Abdelkader over quality players like Tyler Johnson & Atkinson and still expect to be taken seriously. Then, on top of it all, they get a coach who thinks its a good idea to start Jack Johnson (who has no business even being on team usa) over Buff. I like this version of the team much better

He's hurt. 100% agree he should have been on the original roster but he can't play now

He was injured so I didn't include him. But if he was healthy, he would have taken Atkinson's spot.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I hope that last night's shenanigans are enough to make Team USA's higher ups realize that speed and skill are much better to have than grit. Dean Lombardi and Tortorella both need to be held accountable for their mistakes. Ray Shero should be Team USA's next GM and I say give Bylsma a shot with a roster built around skill and speed rather than grit. PLV or Sullivan would also be acceptable choices. I'd even take Todd Richards over Tortorella.

Been saying that for years. Team USA is obsessed with grit. All hope is not lost, but they'd better realize that skill and speed are infinitely better than grit soon with all the young American players.
