No. Kempe is ok, but Roy is overrated.

Kempe is similar to Kerfoot as they play LW and can also play centre. They put up similar points but you're getting a way nastier game out of kempe. The first for Roy is more than normal but I think that the difference in kempe to Kerfoot covers that. Brings us a good RHD we need, and more toughness to the team

Not for what you're willing to offer. Kings wouldn't trade Kempe straight up for the 15th overall.

I am not kidding. The Kings drafted Kempe in the 1st round, and he has surpassed all expectations. He's a strong two-way player, and essentially the sole reason why the Kings power play was decent instead of God awful this year. The Kings are very high on him and won't be trading him unless there's a quality return coming back (i.e. more than Kapanen got).

Assuming they did get the #15OA, the Kings would probably use it to draft Braden Schneider. The Kings wouldn't 1-for-1 swap Kempe for Schneider, especially since the latter is 3-4 years away from the NHL.

2 way players are a dime a dozen. Is he a good hockey player yes but he is a 3rd liner with no chance if becoming anything more than that. He only had 18 points 5v5. I would give yo a solid 4th round pick for him.

You obviously haven't seen him play. He's definitely not a dime a dozen. You could offer whatever you wanted, you just won't get him. He's going to be wearing a Kings sweater for a long time.

Also, he's playing on the 2nd line, both at the end of last season and to start next season.

I get it he is the type of player that is fun to watch for a fan and the coach can trust him. however when it comes to value he really does not have any in the NHL. He might play the 2nd line on a weak LA team but would be hard pressed to play on the 3rd line on a contender. 15G/40 pts max is what you get from him.

I don't think you realize that 15g/40p on the Kings is one of the better offensive outputs the Kings have seen in a while.

I agree, his trade value is probably lower than his worth. That's one of the reasons why the Kings won't trade him. They'll never be able to acquire an acceptable return to outweigh his benefit to the team.

Again, I don't think you realize how important he is to the Kings power play. He's the sole reason why the Kings are now able to gain zone entry just about every time. The season prior (Kovalchuk's first season in LA), they couldn't even make it into the zone to get set up for a scoring chance.

Kempe can’t play center. He was much better on the wing.
