Oh, that is bad for the Leafs

No player coming back has value other than Puljujärvi.

Kassian will only cry and cry and cry. The highlight of his hockey career was talking about how bad the thing of Tkachuk was (and it was completly ok)

No thanks to that drama queen

Larsson always seemed interesting for the defence, but Kassian can be a burden for his team for sure. I thought of taking Kassian really because he has that edge, also to kinda balance the cap as well.

I kinda thought it was an overpayment by Oilers. 7m X 4 year of Nylander for one year of Larsson, yea Kassian at 3.25m X 4 might be excessive and you're not sure what you're getting, the unknown of PJ, but I like the top 10 pick next season potentially as Leaf. Plus the Leafs get minor cap benefits this year.

typical leafs fan.

no one JP has value. Guaranteed if Larsson is on the block there is at lest 15 teams inquiring on him. This is the dman the leafs are missing big dman, who can hit, and break a cycle. oh and has the bonus of playing the right side something pretty much every nhl team is looking for.

Benson is a prospect that would have gone in the first round but dropped due to injury. 2 season in the A healthy has done pretty good and for his cup of coffee last year in the NHL didnt look out of place.

Kassian is over paid but again a player who brings an edge something not player on the leafs has and frankly a main reason why they cant get out of the first round. No one tough enough to play a bit dirty and stir the put and get the emotions going. also since being clean he has pretty much been a model citizen.

Larsson has 1 year left on his deal

How did Kassial help the Oilers to get anywhere?

I remeber how great that edge helped the Oilers, when he lost his mind against the Flames, costing the team the game with his penalty.

so resign him. in the trade you can negotiate that...

2017 playoffs kassian pretty much turned around the sharks series single handedly and get out of the first round. isnt that what the leafs are trying to do.......

so way to call out 1 game. pretty sure I can find a game the nylander cost the leafs a game. every player will make a mistake.

would he help the leafs get into the playoffs in the first place? oilers seem to have trouble doing that with him...

cant judge a one player on a team outcome its not basketball
the oilers have bigger issues that cause them not getting into the play offs.
ex. Team defense, goaltending, lack of offense 5vs 5,

Kassian for the most par does his job +
should be there for energy, hit fight stir the pot. but can also play with skilled players and put up decent points.

I would actually be against the oilers trading him as they do not have anyone else who can do that to his level.

Tor has a team that should make it in every year. this trade gives them pieces they are missing like a solid right defense men and some grit. not to mention 2 decent prospects that could add future depth.

But in the end, Nylander is on a good deal and should just not be traded.

i would say its an ok deal. and he will probably have to be traded due to the over payment on matthews and marner and tavares.

Why not just trade Marner? I mean why getting rid of a good contract to cover up a bad contract.

There are still plenty of teams that would take Marner (and his cap hit is higher than his actual salary. Almost half of his 65m contract was payed in year 1 (16m) + sigining bonus for year 2 14.3m
