yes a team that is already at the cap takes a horrendous contract to further complicate who they have to move.........

It's an interesting idea. I'd like to look at this from the Habs side. They could deal Danault ($3.1M) and take on Debrincat at ($6.4M). They could keep Domi at, say, $5.75M, a net increase of about $6M overall. Habs could have Suzuki, Domi and Kotkeniemi at C, Gallagher, Tatar (eventually Caufield), Drouin, Debrincat, Lehkonen, Armia and Byron up front. That would be a fast, fun team to watch. Just hope Evans and KK can kill penalties or they won't win a lot of games.

An interesting idea? This is certainly highway robbery by the Canadians. Danault is a UFA after this season.

That's what makes it interesting. (hey, I didn't offer it.)

Danault have an extension in place, what you think ? I got a Hawks fan here at work saying DeBrincat isn't good, he's getting carried by Kane honestly …

DeBrincat is obviously the better player and it isn’t close, tell the guys at work they are nuts.

He’ll say DeBrincat is average without Kane but I agree with you, DeBrincat > Danault

Let’s be honest, debrincat is overpaid for a 3rd line player and that’s where he will play. He isn’t going to play with Kane when it’s means the most. I love watching him play but for the hawks to where they need to go, it’s in their best interest to trade him. Also to get something for cat before he’s picked up by seattle in the expansion draft is something else to consider. Go get someone to run with the Kane/dack line and add depth, and get a guy in danault that should have never been traded in the first place to add depth, can score, win face offs, n rack up assists. Plus pairing him with a pfw like maroon and Shaw make for a solid line. If not jack debrusk, Andre BURAKOVSKY from the avs would be another target. Tanner hall in FA would maybe, but he’s been a guy that has wanted to be paid.

What a terrible take.
