Barrie is a UFA throwing him in is meaningless

also NSH kinda gets screwed here too, giving up a good D man and a 1st and not getting much back

I'm not sure it is worth it for Toronto. The reason to get Pietrangelo before he hits the market would be able to offer him that extra year of term (at the high cap # he will ask for). I doubt the Leafs have that kind of cap flexibility. They would have dump more salary to make that work (which is always possible)
