Trading Lindholm and Rakell

Created by: DucksFan55

Description
Both of these trades are a starting point, but I think it might make sense to get rid of both Rakell and Lindholm this year given all of our young LHD and wingers. Also might be able to get a better return than usual with the flat cap and both of their very affordable contracts. I think we could see teams pay more to get players on value deals. I think the Ducks and NYR line up as partners given the Rangers excess of RHD and need for a top pairing LHD. Not sure what DeAngelo's value is so I went with a 1st and Lundkvist as the price for Lindholm, would be willing to add a pick or a prospect (probably a LHD or LW) to make it happen. Tampa is in cap hell and I think Rakell could be a more affordable skill player for them. Really not sure what the package looks like, but I think the teams line up. I only included Jones and Larsson bc I think they could be expendable and would be cheap depth for Tampa. I'm not sure if Palat or Johnson's contracts are viewed as problematic or not, so might be able to squeeze another pick or prospect out of Tampa. I think Rakell is pretty comparable to Johnson or Palat but is about 1 mill cheaper so that added value plus Jones and Larsson gets the Ducks both players. Would probably sign a more legit back up goalie too. I think this line up is a much more legit top 6, takes some of the pressure off of the kids. DeAngelo should be an upgrade as PPQB, Lundkvist boosts our D pool, and three first round picks for an organization that is known for drafting well should help build around Zegras.

Rangers have one of the fastest declines ever on that.

And Johnson and Palat aren't waiving their NTC's to go go a basement team

Take out Lundkvist and add a 3rd/4th from ANA and I’d do it...

Same. But it’s funny that NYR fans still think that package is too much for Lindholm.

Lindholm would be considered a top 15 / top 20 defender if he was on a cup contending team

Everyone is just distracted by point totals.
