Definite yes on the Kase deal from SJ's end but a definite no for me on the Labanc package for Trocheck.

I like the overall idea of pairing up Cooch with Hertl and getting another 2nd line center though.

Canes pass. Lebanc isn’t what we need while subtracting our 2C

I actually quite like this roster. If you could figure out how to get Danault from MTL instead of Trocheck, that would be even better. It's good as is, but Danault is a better player imo and costs less. One of the better Sharks A-GMs I've seen in awhile to be honest so big props.

I can see that but I don't think Trocheck is a good stylistic fit for Carolina. He didn't play too well in the reg season games he played and his playoffs weren't too good. I think he'd fit with San Jose a bit more in terms of the pace they play at and getting the most out of his skill set. Carolina sheds a bit of Cap, gets some picks, and gets a younger player back who they can fit in their top 9 or trade for more draft capital/goaltender. Additionally, they can attempt to have one of their young players on a cheaper deal elevate their role. Overall I feel like it's a fair deal for each team

Thanks! I think this type of roster fits the direction they should aim for. Couture, Meier, and Hertl top line can compete with the best in the league IMO. A decent second line that can hold it's own. The bottom six full of guys that will most likely see reduced 5 on 5 ice time but more time on the PK and in Leivo's case some PP time maybe. The defense is just staggered so that Vlasic, Burns, and Karlsson don't get burned out. The Goaltending is hopefully a tandem that plays an equal split so each stays fresh and can hopefully perform at an above-average level. With all that said this team needs Karlsson to perform at an elite level and the goaltending to improve if they want any thoughts of making the playoff let alone a deep run.

This is pretty much the perfect answer haha. I like the idea of moving Couture to Hertl's wing or vice versa as well. They can both play wing and I think consolidating our offensive fire one line wile bolstering our center depth is a good idea. The 2nd line is very solid, and the defense is (in my opinion) pretty much exactly what it needs to be pairing-wise. We definitely need a goalie who can at least split starts so I like Talbot as an option in that respect if he signs for that price. The 3rd line is good too if Leonard has a good training camp and if Leivo can stay healthy. I just wonder how much Eakin actually signs for. Cause he had a pretty bad year, but I think he knows that he probably deserves more than $1.5 million. I almost wonder if Jumbo at 3C for 500k less would be a better deal. I dunno. Just kind of thinking out loud. But anyway yeah let's hope Doug can pull something like this off.

Bruins might accept, they probably need to have another deal lined up for a top 6 RW first, but then they would do this
