You can keep Benning, not giving up a 3rd for him. You can have a 7th or keep him

It amazes me that people on this site dont look at what the Oilers D do after they leave the Oilers Schultz, Marino, Osterle, Petry ect

It would be a good basis for an Ehlers trade although the Jets would ask for an add due to age.

You dont think Oilers would ask more due to Nuge being a center, not right shot. But still a center

I wouldn't blame them if they did, I'm just saying Winnipeg would want an add due to age. It would also depend on Nuge's contract.

Nuge is extending in Edmonton....
Not much of this makes much sense for Edmonton. No need for this type of turn over they just had a good season.

You know there is a salary cap right. Why would NJ pay him that when they could probably give a young kid the ice time and pop in around 20 goals for under $1M. Keep him then.

I wish 20 goals were that easy to replace, that is what we talk about in Edmonton all the time when we talk about getting rid of Neal.....How do we replace those goals? Only 87 players had more than 20 goals. But if you think you can do it with a young kid that you pay under 1 million, good on you.

I’d take my chances. I’d be happy with a kid scoring 12 goals in that salary than taking in james Neal and preventing a young kid from getting the opportunity. We aren’t winning in the next two years and have no need for Neal unless we are getting a value able asset in return. The teams that need Neal are contenders and they don’t have the cap space.

Ok look, maybe. But we all remember what happened the last time a struggling LW was traded 1 for 1 for Larsson
