Deals like nurse for Tatar or Drouin are more plausible targets that fit team need and can be worked into current cap situation.

Okay. Laine is good, and he would look nice with McDavid but not that good and I’ll tell you why.... Nurse. Nurse is a decent 2nd pairing defence man that Winnipeg could really use, and he would be a massive help when they are trying to contend. Samorukov, and Puljujarvi. They are both very good prospects Samorukov is our future bottom pairing defence man (mainly because we are deep in the left side), and Puljujarvi is very good all around player that will be like the perfect right winger to play with McDavid that we could get. Benning. Benning is a good bottom pairing 2M defence man that is good all around. And now the two firsts?? And one of them is 14OA!! Like come on, Laine is good, but not nearly that good for the amount of talent we are giving. Think about it... we are giving WAY too much for him.
