The only reason I want to trade Domi is because we have a logjam at centre, not because he would not be a good player. Can't say the same about Buffalo who are still hoping with their fingers crossed that their last 8th overall pick would become anywhere close to the player Domi is right now and fill the void they have at that position.

I'm more confident in that pick than I am at Domi being effective long term. With Buffalo. Also, Domi is better suited at LW as much he hates it. Regardless MTL loaded there too.

Bro. I just mentioned that trade was PATHETIC. Kapanen is worth a late first at best! GM's "work" doesn't consist of overpaying because he a good season BEFORE. Stop using Kapanen as an example. it was a stupid overpay by a narrow-minded radical moron.

As I see it, facts based in reality doesn't fit your thinking, so you ask people to stop using them. Do you wear a red cap too? smile

The fact that the 8th worst team was playing 4C minutes in the PLAYOFFS is very telling. What JR gave up for Kapanen should be the exception, not the ordinary. Domi is not getting 8 lol

It's not the exception, it's the market.

You can't reject a real trade because it doesn't fit the value of the fake trade you have in mind.

Let me keep it simple for you:

Your opinion < facts

Domi > Kapanen > 1st

Maybe ur right, I doubt it, but maybe. In any case, Buffalo isn't interested in giving pick 8 for Domi. Get over it and move on please

Thank you for your open mindedness. It's gonna help you have a better time here.

I agree that once value is established based of comparables trades, a team will to actually offer that value is debatable.

I would argue that Buffalo would agree to trade 8th for Domi, based on :

1. Needs at center;
2. Continuous faillure to properly draft / devellop high level prospects;
3. Pressing need to start competing for a playoff spot asap.

But you might have a different view on this and only the GM knows.

As you can see, I'm not going anywhere smile

That's, like, your opinion then. But an important question here is if Buffalo patient enough to be waiting for that prospect to become an impact player in the next two, three years maybe. Remember it's a team that's been missing the playoffs for a decade now, the owners are frustrated, the management is frustrated, the players are frustrated and most importantly, the fans are REALLY frustrated. Domi would make them a better team right now, the 8th overall pick would most likely not.

That's not an excuse to overpay for average players and stunt it even further.

That's exactly an excuse to overpay.
