Initial Creation Date: Sep. 8, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
First thing, bury Nick Ritchie, biggest bust since the Don signed Belesky.

Let Torey walk, it’ll hurt to have never seen him win in Boston after two really good chances, but it is what it is.

Jake’s time in Boston is up, the window to win is still there but it’s closing as each day passes with marchy and bergie getting older, the FA market is very deep with RW who can finally play alongside Krejc in his last year with the Bs, dump the disaster that was the 2015 NHL draft for the bruins for a solid bottom 6 player and draft picks and use the cap space to bring in one of those highly rated RWs on the market.

Bring back Zee for one final season as a 7th d who rotated in and out of the lineup, staying around Charlie, Brandon and Urho, helping them develop into the future of the Bruins D line. Sign a solid middle of the pack Dman like Edmunson to bolster the back end and really help retool and almost perfect Bruins team into a true cup contender.

Lastly, the moves in this offseason wouldn’t handcuff us for next offseason, you’d still have space for Kase and Carlo’s contracts and space to bring in a bridge goalie.

Big Z is willing to come back but not as a 7th D. The lowest you can play him is on the 3rd pairing.

I’m sure he’ll be happy to be back at all. If anything he’ll appreciate taking less, useless, heavy minutes in the season so he’s fresh and capable for a more important role in the playoffs.

Urho and Zee will rotate the top pairing minutes. It’s a formula that can work. Urho has huge upside. Studs, Trent and Lauko can all fight for a spot on the top squad but I don’t see them making it over anyone here. They’ll come in here and there throughout the season, they’ll be black aces.

Is being a 7th D really being back? It's like when Spezza was being benched by Babcock, he was very unhappy.

At minimum he plays on the 3rd pair or he retires or goes to a contender that needs him.

So your plan is to trade a 23yr old that is top 20 in 5v5 goals among all LW's over the last 3 years? The same 23yr old that is top 60 in 5v5 goals among all forwards over the last 3 years? He's got the same amount of 5v5 goals as guys like Barzal, Toews & Tarasenko. He has more 5v5 goals than guys like Tkachuk, Rakell, Zucker, Patches, Larkin, Kreider, Palmieri, Landeskog & Hoffman and you want to trade him for a 3rd liner?

DeBrusk - 43G / 83pts
Toffoli - 36G / 82pts
Coyle - 30G / 78pts

The two guys you have on the 2nd line have been worse at 5v5 production over DeBrusk, how is this making the team better?

WOW!

Chara will be a regular if he returns. Cehlarik has signed in Europe, he's gone.

Jake's time is up??? Kempe has been better on wing unless I'm wrong and even if I am, he's a 3rd liner at the moment and Bruins already have Coyle there. Keep #13 there, it's where he's at his best. Kase in the top6. Toffoli isn't LW and this contract is too much for him. Studnicka in the NHL.

Vaakanainen is not ready for top pair duties. Edmundson sucks, you don't give him this contract nor you sign him. Don't see ARI taking Moore, they have enough Dmen and they are tight against cap.

Chara will play regularly. 3rd pair or 2nd or whatever but he'll play. Maybe less and maybe not back-to-back but it's up to him/Cassidy. He won't be a 7th D.

I agree. He'll play less but he definitely won't be a 7th D.

We'll give you the Las Vegas second for DeBrusk but the rest of that suggested trade is a no-go. Kempe is our DeBrusk; exchanging them makes little sense.
