I figured. I was think more like Johnsson and the leafs 2nd for the NYI 1st

I wouldn’t call him a cap dump. He’s owed 1M less than his cap hit for he next 2 years. That plays into a lot of teams budget structure. Granted the ask in the trade was unrealistic.

rn his status is a cap dump, His trade value will all depend on how he plays next year, I can't see a team take on his contract during this flat cap era, especially since he came off of a very serious injury.
People can also debate that Johnson was only good when he played on the same line as Matthews and when he didn't, he played bad.
