NYI signing Hall

Created by: DrLLCoolJay
Team: 2020-21 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 9, 2020
Published: Sep. 9, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hall said that winning the cup is more important than money for him, and Isles have shown they're contenders now.

3-year deals are optimal for players during the COVID, since the cap will most likely be flat for 2 years at least before it starts moving again and they can get more cash when it starts moving again.

After next season Seattle can be convinced to take Eberle (over Mayfield, Cizikas or Bailey) in the expansion draft and Varly can be moved if more money is required for resigning Beau, Sorokin and Pelech. But all of that depends on the cap and how well they perform next season.

I could go for this, but it's impossible without Ladd being done, which I'm not convinced of

Maybe. I would've liked to see him get into a few games, but clearly that's not how it's going to go. Leo and MDC have looked good though so it's hard to find a spot for him anyways.

I’m not saying Ladd is definitely going on LTIR, but he hasn’t played over kuhnhackl, johnston, dal colle of jomarov. He definitely deserves to play given his experience , but I think there might be something going on behind the scenes that might lead to him going to LTIR. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if one of his many health issues reappeared. It would benefit the isles even if he went on LTIR for one year.

I still don’t get why so many think Ladd can’t go on LTIR. We’ve seen guys spend 3-5 years on LTIR, with it being incredibly clear that they were healthy enough to play. Especially when you take into account that sources have already discussed Ladd AND Komarov going to LTIR.

LTIR concerns aside, this lineup looks deadly. Hall has shown he can carry an offense on his own, imagine how great he’d be with his buddy Eberle and Barzal on the same line as him, especially with this kind of depth down the roster. Only change I’d make is keeping Lee and Bailey on the same line, they have such great chemistry and I’d love to see it reinvigorated.

I agree completely, but now that he played yesterday there's a lower chance of him going to LTIR for next season frown

Yes, I agree completely! Their chemistry has always been top notch. However, for some reason I don't see that working with Nelson as the center for that line. In that case I would put them on a line together with JGP. Also, the Killer B line has been on fire this playoff run, so they also have good chemistry. So I think either of those combinations would be great! smile
