Everybody is suppose raise their game level and contribute in the playoffs. It's not only to the top 6 to score. Lekh and Byron are still 15 goals players in regular season. In never said they were slowing down in the playoff, they just cant compete with the same level of succes.

You’re talking about a sample size of 10 games this year. Even if you’re expecting them to be the epitome of consistency, a player that averages 15 goals in 82 games would be expected to score 1.8 goals. They both had 1 goal in the playoffs this year. How is that judged as a lower level of success when they score 0.8 fewer goals in a 10 game sample size? Especially when the games get tighter and the scoring goes down. Plus they were playing an almost exclusively defensive role in half the games, and Lehkonen’s goal (that was assisted by Byron) was the series winning goal against the Penguins.

You could argue that the habs need better players than Lehkonen/Byron on their roster to get through the playoffs, but you can’t argue that Lehkonen/Byron aren’t as good in the playoffs as they are in the regular season.

I would try to move for Patrick Laine, they need centerman and defenseman. My offer would be Domi + Mete for immediate help in their roster. I add Poehling (C) and Struble (D) for pontential prospects and because Laine has a high market value, I would also put my 1st round (2021), 2nd round (2022) and 3rd round (2021).

So more clearly:

Domi + Mete + Poehling + Struble + 1st round (2021) + 2nd round (2022) and 3rd round (2021)
for
Patrick Laine
