Bear and better goaltending (besides Murray) need to be the priority!

As a life long oilers fan, I hate the idea of Adam Cracknell coming over, it's pointless, our pk was second best last year, pp was the best, so it makes no difference, just a waste of cap space

He will play almost all year in the Bake. Nothing wrong with having some veteran leadership for the young guys in the minors.

I would like to see Holland get a left winger for McDavid, a 3c, and a good backup. It would be hard with a flat cap, but it’s possible. Did he actually sign Cracknell? Or is that a rumour?

Everybody needs to settle down, Cracknell was signed for the young guys in Bakersfield only. The NHL teams all do this and it is a good thing, it teaches the players down there to be professionals.

So why not sign someone like Simmonds or another better free agent and could play with the top six in the minors? There are a lot of players that will sign 2 way deals that could be put back and forth into the big leagues or the minor leagues? What leadership qualities does Cracknell have? If the kids don't listen, what will he do? Beat their butts up? He literally has no value to either leagues, why do you think he's been all over the place since he last left the nhl?

you are completely wrong, why would simmonds play in the ahl if he can sign a NHL contract and play on the big club. They Oilers are not signing Cracknell to play on the big club at all, not sure why you dont understand that. It happens all the time with every single NHL team. If he plays even 2 games with the Oilers, I will be shocked. Where you this upset when the oilers signed Peluso last year or Malone

He already did that. Now he has to convince Tippett to play them together for more than 2 shifts in a row.

Just to be honest, yes I was, because I firmly believe that they can sign better players for leadership roles, not tough guys or guys that are defensively minded players, if you want some guy like Lavioa to blossom, you'll need a good playmaker and a goal scorer for him to develop, I mean, look at what happened to Maksimov, they put a tough goal scoring winger on a shut down line, makes no sense to me, signing cracknell to me sounds like even the condors have defensive problems, and yes they do, but there are other better and faster more aggressive players that will sign a 2 way contract that could be brought up if need be, I've seen too much talent both offensive and defensive talent come and go, maybe it's time to stick to the same players on the top 9 forwards and top 4 defenceman like what Boston and Tampa did, look at their success, they stuck to a plan and had success, every oilers gm just kept trading and trading, guys kept coming and going and nothing worked, Malone and Peluso was pretty much signed to fill in spots unfilled that could have been filled with better minor league players and we all know it, now we're stuck with crappy defensive players, unreasonable signings have to stop now, they had to stop seasons ago, the worst signing I've seen in the last five years as we all know it is the Lucic signing, I wanted luc to come over too at the time but not for 6 mill a year, they should have signed him to a 2 year 3.5 mill a year deal, keep him on the 3rd line as a checker, that's what he is, now I'm hoping they don't give RNH a ridiculously huge contract, we still need to sign Yams and need to resign Nurse and Bear

You talking about Nuge? If so I would most rather put Nuge back with Draisaitl and Yamamoto, so you would need a left winger with McDavid and Puljujarvi. If we could get a guy like Jarnkrok or Killorn or someone like that, that would I be great. Or if you want to put Nuge with McDavid then get a left winger for Draisaitl.

No, Athanasiou. Nuge isn't a sniper IMO and should be playing with Draisaitl and Yamamoto.

Ah ok. Yah he could be a option. He not the best at defence same as McDavid though.

Nuge - Drai - Yamo should be drawing the toughest comp, with AA - McDavid - Kassian getting more O-zone starts. If EDM had a tough minutes shutdown line Tippett could get even more clean air for the McDavid line.
