Not too bad.

I actually don’t think Markstrom gets that much, but you never know.

It’s not a big splash up front but it’s no risk. Galchenyuk has the talent it’s just can he get his form back. If markstrom gets less the canes could realistically go for a bigger target

Big pass on Chucky as a Cane. He is one dimensional and not very good.

I’d give it a shot, especially since you can flip him at the deadline and because you think so highly of Foegele

I disagree. With a 1 year deal there is no risk involved and the player will be motivated. He has proven before that he can score and the canes need that on the second line. We also have the cap space to give granlund a 1 year deal and I wouldn’t be opposed to that either

What he is saying is that if it doesn’t work we can dump him at the deadline and make a move to get someone else who can fill the top 6 role. For example maybe Kyle palmieri

Who’s you’re second left wing then?

(I’m done arguing, just looking for your opinion now)

We dove the bargain bin and it wasn’t the right move for us. Adding another square peg and hoping to mold it to be round is a gamble. We need to get the round pegs to start with

Why exactly? He had a terrible year this year for sure, but before that he has been a consistent 40-50 point guy. He won’t be real expensive on the cap and will be motivated due to coming off a terrible season

I don’t disagree but we don’t have the cap space currently

With our defense we should get a better top 6 player and stick with our current goalies.

I agree that this is the canes biggest need other than goaltending. I think the canes more likely address it via trade than free agency but the price is steep and I don’t want the canes to move pesce for it. I was looking at galchenyuk or granlund because their value will likely be depressed coming off terrible seasons. Dadonov would be another option but I don’t want to give a long contract to a guy who is 31
Remus liked this.

We will not win a cup with Reimer and Mrazek in net. I think a true number one has to be the first priority. This leaves us with 5 mil to upgrade the top 6 if we don’t move nino. If we move nino we have a ton more space but we have to also be concerned about space next year

Was Reimer and Mrazek the problem with .920+ sv percentages or scoring against Boston?

They were both fine but not spectacular. Neither goalie will steal us a series. Markstrom makes the canes a considerably better team imo.
