Edmonton declines. If you want Puljujarvi, offer something of value

Puljujarvi is worthless. What’s the deal with you guys asking for so much. He’s not even under contract and toxic bust.

I mean Virtanen basically scored 20 playing 10min a game. I'd add a 3rd but that's about it

As someone who's lived in Calgary, Winnipeg, in Edmonton, I know there are at least 2 teams with worse nightlife than Edmonton, lol.

Absolutely nothing in that reply is accurate.

Puljujarvi has an NHL-out clause on his current Liiga deal: he's free to return to the NHL this season. Using your logic, any current RFA on a team already eliminated from the playoffs has less value because they aren't under contract.

If not wanting to play for the team that bounced you between the NHL and minors like a yo-yo, made you play through double hip spurs, and limited you to 8 minutes a night in a 4th-line role is toxic, then there's a massive culture issue in and around the NHL. Puljujarvi - and any other player without UFA or arbitration rights for that matter - has next to no say on their career until they're 27 years old. Name any other kind of profession where upper management can reside over effectively every facet of your life for 8 months without consequence. The boomer mentality of "Puljujarvi didn't prove or earn it!" is utter trash and no NHL franchise has had success by abiding by it.

All of the math suggests Puljujarvi is going to come back to North America and be a 35-50 point winger on a $1M contract, possibly with term. That's absurd value, and not something Edmonton should be looking at flipping for an under-performing frat boy that can't crack the 40-point mark.

He's also two years older than Puljujarvi and in his statistical peak. Virtanen's a run of the mill third liner. A third round pick doesn't offset Puljujarvi's potential.

Except Puljujarvi has said he won't play for Edmonton so you have no leverage. You can talk about how great he was playing in Finland and how he wants to come back on a cheap deal but if he was going to play for Edmonton the contract would be done already.

Saying Edmonton's is better than Winnipeg's doesn't really change anything lol

Except both he and his agent have since walked that statement back, and have been in conversation with Holland regarding a two year deal.

Thanks for staying up to date.

Even the buyout adds cap for the Penguins in years one and two so no idea why they would do that
