Dude. I was only talking about contract comparables here. This is how it's done around the league. The comp was also Domi to Schenn, not Mantha.

Obviously I see Mantha as a better asset then Domi which is why I added two 2nds in a deep draft and a LHD that fits into your lineup. There's a trade to be made here because both team's can help the other. There's also something to be said about whether Mantha can put pressure on Detroit if he wants to go closer to him OR go to a team not currently rebuilding.

2nds are virtually worthless, especially when considering they're being traded for a legit top line PF in the NHL...odds any of those picks end up better than Mantha? Maybe 5%

And that's a very mediocre LHD. Wings have tons of those guys in the system already, like every team in the league. Or they can go out and sign one in UFA (see Nemeth), and keep their best forward haha.

There is no trade to be made here, unless the Habs are interested in moving Romanov. Domi does nothing for us, especially if it means opening up another hole on the wing.

Don't think that helps out both teams?

Detroit gets a clear upgrade at 2nd line center + needed LHD + more picks in a rebuilding phase. Montreal gets a scoring winger and has picks to spare.

I do not think it helps Wings as much as it help Habs.

Habs deal an extra center with the emergence of KK and Suzicki and get a power forward.

Wings lose a poer forward but gain a center and Kulak is not an upgrade. The picks are ok but Wings already have 3 2nd's. The bottom line is this is an inter divisional trade where one team deals off extra and fills need and another deals off one piece and gains another and picks. Habs get better and Wings do not at least in the short term as those picks will not be on the roster for years. By that time Domi will be older as will guys like Larkin, Bert and Hronek. The problem with these two teams is if Habs really wanted Mantha, they would need to trade Dimi and a high prospect or two prospects to help Wings not a lateral move for one and a fill a hole without subtraction for the other.

The main problem is it is an inter divisional trade where one team is trading an extra piece(Domi) and filling another hole. While the other team is trading a piece creating a hole and filling another hole. Kulak at best is a 5 or 6th defenseman and the picks are nice but we already have three 2nds. Those players will not be on the roster for at least 3 years.

In order for Wings to trade in the division it would need to be some combination of Domi and a top prospect or 2 prospects with one being a top prospects.

Not saying Mantha is all that but he does fill a major hole in Montreal lineup and creates a big hole in Wings lineup

For that last time it's been reported through the Detroit media that Yzerman has no interest in a Domi for Mantha deal, Pony up either KK or Suzuki and we can talk. Domi could command around $5m to $6m per long term we can go cheaper #2C by drafting either Rossi or Perfetti both will probably be better then Domi anyways. Domi+Kulak plus lesser picks aren't getting you Mantha so forget about it he's not getting moved period.

Let's be real. You'll probably have to say this at least 50 more times in the next week.

Yup it's pretty much going to be a broken record, Either until Mantha signs or MB deals Domi to another club.
