2nd line option read description

Created by: ArakinSkywalker

Initial Creation Date: Sep. 15, 2020

Description
I don't think this will happen at all, calgary wouldn't do this trade anyways i don't think it's enough, i don't really know what they would be asking for, just a fun option i think would help Johnny make more of an impact in playoffs. He wouldn't be the top guy relied on to score on colorado, Mack & rants would still be the top line scorers, then without the first line pressure he might be able to convert a few more chances and exploit the 2nd line d of teams.

That’s just a ridiculous statement “the Avs had 3 guys on him at all times”, that’s beyond hyperbole straight into the realm of delusion. That doesn’t happen in hockey. Tkachuk was BY far the best player in that series for the flames, Gaudreau was somewhere near 6 or 7.

You want to know the obsession with defense? Defense isn’t fun to play, it isn’t sexy. But you do have to make an effort. And that is what matters. MacKinnon isn’t great at defense, but at least he puts in a reasonable effort. And if you aren’t at least willing to make an effort at both ends you aren’t ever going to be a champion especially ESPECIALLY if you are the best player on your team. Personally I wouldn’t trade anything for him because I wouldn’t want him and his playoff disappearance routine on my team. 10 pts in the last 19 playoff games, and a lack of interest in playing defense is just someone not worth investing in trading for.

I suppose you’re entitled to an opinion, regardless of how elitist and misinformed you sound when you say you would trade nothing for a top 10 LW. I guess I’ll just leave you with the fact that Burakovsky had a whopping 18 points in 56 playoff games, a rate significantly below his already mediocre regular season numbers, prior to playing for Colorado but you traded for him. Imagine the production increase you’d get from slapping another 100pt threat on MacKinnon’s wing, I’m sure it would be better than the increase you saw a 35 point player get

It isn’t elitist at all, and you’re banking a lot on Gaudreau repeating a career year when his next 2 highest pt totals are 84 and 78 pt seasons. I don’t sound elitist or misinformed when I wouldn’t trade for a guy who doesn’t fit into the mold of what the Avs are. And seriously you’re going to use Burakovsky as comp for pt production when in every season in the playoffs up until this year he played in a bottom 6 role with very little PP time because of who the Caps had in front of him compared to Gaudreau who has played top line PP1 time in all basically all of his playoffs and disappeared? You like Gaudreau got it, but some of the things you are throwing out there like 3 guys on him and his team mates are awful makes you sound like an apologist for him. And last little bit of disagreement is that literally the last thing the Avs needed against Dallas was more scoring especially when they are playing a 3rd string goalie got SUB .860 goal tending in the loses to the Stars and still should have won the series. But I do like that you’re passionate and like talking hockey, so just know if offended you outside of my own opinion on Gaudreau I apologize for that. Feel free to challenge or agree with me any time.
